Movietown Square Debuts in WeHo
AvalonBay Communities commemorated the opening of West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation’s (WHCHC) Movietown Square last week. The five-story mixed-use project includes 77 units of affordable senior housing, and a 15,000-square-foot Trader Joe’s.
The ownership and development team created a much-needed senior affordable housing community within the overall 294-unit, market-rate Avalon West Hollywood community. The project is a part of the city’s inclusionary housing rule, where every new multifamily community is required to reserve 20% of the housing for low- to moderate-income households.
Project architect, MVE + Partners’ Jeff Larsen, said, “This is the jewel of Avalon West Hollywood, and I believe this is the future of how to live: where people of all ages and backgrounds live together and help each other. Today shows how brilliant that jewel shines.”
The fully-occupied project is located at 7302 Santa Monica Blvd. in West Hollywood, CA.
