Most Expensive Cities in the World
Looking to move to a new city? The ECA International published its Annual Cost of Living report, ranking the most expensive cities to live in across the globe.
The consultancy company compared the costs of a basket of day-to-day goods and services like groceries, recreational goods, clothing, meals out, and even alcohol and tobacco. The goods and services are the items that expats commonly purchase when moving abroad.
While many Switzerland cities dominated the top of the list, a surprise city took the No. 1 spot, and the European-heavy list still reaches across the corners of the world.
1. Caracas, Venezuela
2. Zurich, Switzerland
3. Geneva, Switzerland
4. Basel, Switzerland
5. Bern, Switzerland
6. Luanda, Angola
7. Tokyo, Japan
8. Seoul, South Korea
9. Oslo, Norway
10. Shanghai, China
