Mortenson to Spearhead Mayo’s $6B Medical Center
Mayo Clinic selected Mortenson Co. to build the the new Discovery Square research and technology center in Rochester, MN. Discovery Square will be the cornerstone of the clinic’s $6-billion Destination Medical Center (DMC) project. Construction is expected to commence late next year, with completion anticipated for 2019.
DMC is a 20-year build-out project aimed at turning Rochester into America’s healthcare capital. The six-block development will include transportation, hospitality, livable city and learning environments, as well as research and technology.
Discovery Square will be near Mayo’s current headquarters in downtown Rochester.
