More Ramen for Texas: Sun Noodle to Open a Houston Plant
Honolulu-based Sun Noodle, a manufacturer that produces ramen-style noodles, made an offer on a property in Houston, which would become the company’s fourth plant. The company supplies fresh Japanese noodles to top ramen shops throughout the United States, and the new plant would supply restaurants in Texas, the central U.S., Mexico and South America.
The exact location of the plant was undisclosed, due to pending negotiations.
The Houston expansion is part of a national craze that is fueling demand for bowls of fresh Japanese noodle soup. In Houston, Sun Noodle supplies local restaurants that include Ramen Tastu-Ya and Republic Diner, and Asian grocery stores such as Seiwa Market and Daido.
