Home Depot coming to Montgomery

Montgomery Welcoming First Home Depot

A 138,000-square-foot Home Depot is slated for Montgomery, about an hour north of Houston. The store will be situated on a 10-acre site on the northeastern corner of Buffalo Springs Drive and state Highway 105 late last year.

Construction is expected to get underway in the spring and be completed next October.

Home Depot will join Kroger’s grocery store as the Buffalo Springs Shopping Center anchor tenant. Milestone Cos owns the center. The construction of the Home Depot will cost an estimated $13.8 million.

The Houston Business Journal reports that Home Depot will also pay for the $1.4 million improvement of a portion of Buffalo Springs Drive. The city has agreed to pay back $674,000 of that amount by reimbursing Home Depot through annual sales tax grants. It will be the town’s first big-box hardware store.
