
Moffitt Cancer Center to Build 16M-SF, 775-Acre Treatment and Research Campus in Pasco
Moffitt Cancer Center has unveiled “Speros FL,” the organiaation’s planned 775-acre cancer treatment and research campus to be located in Pasco County, FL. The word Speros is a derivative of the Latin verb, “Sperare,” meaning “to hope” or to “look forward to.”
Speros FL will be convenient to the Tampa International Airport and feature 16 million square feet of lab, office, manufacturing and clinical space with the potential to add classrooms, teaching kitchens, health clubs and a performing arts center.
Phase one of development is expected to begin in mid-to-late 2023 with the construction of various facilities comprising 650,000 square-feet of the total 1.5 million square feet, of which at least 300,000 square feet will be dedicated research space.
Speros FL, Moffitt Cancer Center’s largest facility, is intended to expand the organization’s global footprint and to increase its impact exponentially as a dynamic hub for biotech and life sciences enterprises.
