Mixed-Use Project in Cards for Former Riviera Casino Site
It’s been nine years since the Riviera casino closed its doors. And now, it looks like an ambitious project may rise from the rubble. Las Vegas developer Brett Torino and New York-based Flag Luxury CEO Paul Kanavos are planning to develop two mixed-use towers on the Las Vegas Strip at the site of the former legendary casino. Plans for the 600-foot-tall towers include a hotel, residential units, restaurants, outdoor dining space and a theatre.
Torino and Kanavos paid $125 million for a ten-acre parcel from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, which sits just south of Fontainebleau, Las Vegas. Fontainebleau bought five acres of the 10-acre parcel from the new land owner.
The development would be built in two phases and will need a waiver on the height of the building.
The first phase would include a shopping center with retail, restaurants and swimming pool on the Strip-facing part of the property, with the residential and hotel towers in the second phase.
