Mixed-Use Project Breaks Ground in Deep Ellum

Westdale and KDC launched construction on The Epic, a mixed-use, transit-oriented development in Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood. The development is going north on eight acres at Good Latimer Expressway and Pacific Street, which is currently occupied by the historic Union Bankers Building. The site is also adjacent to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Deep Ellum light rail station.

The project will have an office building, residential tower and boutique hotel. KDC is developing the 250,000-square-foot office tower with average floor plates of 25,000 square feet on 10 floors. Retail space will line the ground level of the building, and will also be on the first floor of the future multifamily tower, which will be built by StreetLights Residential. Meanwhile, Vine Street Ventures Inc. will develop a new Pittman Hotel in the existing Union Bankers Building.
