Mixed-Use Infill Project Moves Forward in Berkeley

Oakland, CA-based BayRock Multifamily is closer to starting a 107-unit luxury rental project in the Arts District of Downtown Berkeley, CA. The city’s Zoning Adjustments Board gave preliminary approval to tear down an existing two-story structure, so a seven-story project can be built.
The developer merged two existing parcels at 1950 Addison St., within a burgeoning urban neighborhood near UC Berkeley. The mixed-use community will offer a blend of studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, as well as parking for 68 vehicles and 75 bicycles.
Irvine, CA-based TCA Architects’ contemporary design plan includes six levels of residential, set over a lively streetscape and parking garage. On-site amenities include a fitness center, co-working area, lobby, bike workshop with private bike lounge, pet wash area, and a roof-top recreation deck.
