Mission District’s Le Fenix at 1950 Affordable Multifamily Tops Out

La Fénix at 1950, a 100% affordable housing development helmed by co-developers Bridge Housing and Mission Housing Development Corporation, and working with Swinerton Builders, has topped out and is moving to its shell and core phase.

This milestone marks the finishing of the topmost structure of the nine-story development, which is expected to be completed in fall of this year.

“Watching something as important to this community rise out of the ground each day has been one of the proudest experiences of my life,” said Mission Housing executive director Sam Moss.

As the Bay Area becomes a flashpoint in the discussion on affordable housing and relevant solutions, the apartments being developed at La Fénix will be affordable to households with incomes between 45% and 60% of the Area Median Income, with a portion of units set aside for 40 formerly homeless families.
