Latest Design Vision Unveiled for Miralon MPC
Another large-scale, master-planned community is moving forward in the Coachella Valley. Boston-based Freehold Communities plans to develop Miralon, a more than 300-acre project slated for 1,150 homes in north Palm Springs off North Indian Canyon Drive.
The planned 18-hole golf course has been trimmed from the latest design vision, even though it had already been installed but had never opened at the stalled project. Instead, olive groves will be planted on the former fairways, and be harvested for residents by Temecula Olive Oil Company. The project will also include communal outdoor space, and roughly 6.5 miles of walking paths.
Freehold Communities’ Brad Shuckhart says repairs to Miralon’s infrastructure are currently underway, and the company plans to offer lots for sale in the next few months, and homes by the end of the year.
In addition to Miralon, the 660-acre master-planned community of Virada, with roughly 1,300 homes, is moving forward in Indio.
