Mill Creek Proposes Eight-Story Apartment Building in Oceanside

MCRT Investments LLC, the Mill Creek Residential Trust, has filed an application with the City Planning Division, to build an eight-story, mixed-use development in Oceanside, CA. The project would feature 362 apartments and 62 hotel rooms on a 1.7-acre site on the North Coast Highway, between Interstate 5 and the Pacific Ocean.

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the proposal is called Modera Neptune, and would include 35 city-mandated affordable units. At eight stories, the building would also be one of the tallest in Oceanside and include a three-level underground parking garage.

Like many cities in California, Oceanside residents are grappling with the state’s mandate for apartment construction due to the housing shortage. Similar high-density developments have been widely opposed across San Diego County, but the projects are slowly gaining momentum. MCRT Investments has recently built Modera San Diego.
