Middleburg Communities to Develop Build-to-Rent Community in Midlothian

Vienna, VA-based investment firm Middleburg Communities has closed on a 30-acre land parcel located at 15200 East West Road in Midlothian, VA with plans to develop a Class A build-to-rent community.

Financing for the community, Hamlet Watkins Centre, was provided by EagleBank.

“We’re bullish on the Richmond MSA as our research shows exceptional, sustained economic growth with superior demographics,” said Robin Bettarel, Middleburg Communities’ managing director of development, Mid-Atlantic region. “Our build-for-rent product in Midlothian will provide residents with a community anchor in a highly convenient location near multiple economic and leisure demand generators.”

Hamlet Watkins Centre, will consist of 283 cottages, duplexes and townhomes with private entrances and yards plus a mix of surface, detached garage, and attached garage parking. The property is part of the Watkins Centre masterplan, which includes 169,000 square-feet of existing Class A office, with another 100,000 square feet of office slated for construction.

She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
