Middle Schoolers in Weymouth Head Back to Class in $163M Style
BOND Building Construction, Inc., and HMFH Architects have completed the new $163-million, 252,000-square-foot Maria Weston Chapman Middle School in Weymouth, MA.
“This is the most significant capital project that the Town has ever undertaken in its history,” said Weymouth Mayor Robert Hedlund at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The cutting-edge building will host over 1,400 students in grades 6 through 8 when the new school year begins on September 6th.
Chapman Middle School features three academic wings and variety of lab and maker spaces that are built around the school’s ‘Town Square,’ a central circulation space and gathering area that also functions as the dining facility. It features an 840-seat professional performance theatre space.
