Microsoft Corp. to Open New Office in Atlanta

Microsoft Corp. has announced plans to open a new office in the 523,000-square-foot Atlantic Yards office project in Midtown’s Atlantic Station. The $75 million investment is expected to create 1,500 jobs.

Slated to open in the summer of 2021, the office will house Microsoft’s technology unit, where it will focus on artificial intelligence and cloud services.

The firm had previously been using space at the Coda building in Midtown’s technology square, where it operates a cloud computing engineering center. Microsoft is drawn to Midtown Atlanta by the influence of Georgia Tech, one of the country’s top engineering schools.
