Microsoft-Affiliated Buyer Acquires Westside’s Quarry Yards Project for $127M
A buyer group affiliated with Microsoft has acquired the 70-acre Quarry Yards project on Atlanta’s Westside for $127 million.
The 70-acre mixed-use project was assembled by former Atlanta Braves baseball player Mark Teixeira and Urban Creek Partners. It is at the meeting point of several highly publicized greenspace initiatives in Atlanta that are currently under development in Bellwood Quarry Park, the Beltline and the Proctor Creek Greenway. Additionally, it is within walking distance of the Bankhead MARTA station.
The original plan for the large-scale mixed-use project included a $400 million project adjacent to the park consisting of 575,000 square feet of office space, 75,000 square feet of retail space and a hotel. The project was also slated to include 850 apartment units.
Bryan Heller of CBRE represented Urban Creek Partners in the transaction.
