Michael Martin to Lead Port of San Francisco’s Real Estate

The Port of San Francisco named Michael J. Martin to lead its real estate and development department. He will officially begin his new role as Deputy Director on May 8, 2017 as Deputy Director, bringing more than 15 years of city and county experience. He most recently served at San Francisco’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD).

Martin’s responsibilities will include oversight of the Port’s diverse portfolio of real estate assets and development, along the 7-1/2 miles of waterfront. That includes managing all aspects of a multi-tenanted portfolio of commercial, industrial and retail properties, as well as providing high-level strategic direction.

The Port’s Elaine Forbes said, “His extensive knowledge and expertise in a wide range of complex citywide projects and initiatives aimed at making the waterfront a vibrant and sustainable place will be invaluable as we implement large and small scale development projects, while navigating rising sea levels and seismic infrastructure improvements along the waterfront.”
