Metro DC Emerges as Second-Biggest Hub for AI Jobs

Metro DC has ascended to become the second-largest hub for job postings related to artificial intelligence, outpacing the New York metro area, according to a report from JLL.

The surging demand for AI-related positions in Metro DC can be attributed to the region’s key role in the defense and biotech sectors, both of which have heavily integrated AI technologies into their operations. Top-tier corporations like Leidos, Boeing, and AstraZeneca are actively seeking AI talent, reinforcing the region’s prominence in this field.

Data scientist roles constitute a substantial 17% of AI-related job postings in the area. Additionally, roles like solutions architects, system engineers, full stack engineers, and scrum masters are gaining increasing traction, further diversifying the AI job landscape.
