Metro D.C. Apartment Community Trades for $53M

Rockville-based Donaldson Group and New York City-based Declaration Partners have acquired Vista at White Oak Apartments, a 272-unit garden-style apartment community in Silver Spring, MD. The sales price in the off-market transaction was $53 million.

Located on more than 11 acres, the community is less than one mile from Viva White Oak, a $3-billion, 12-million-square-foot planned mixed-use Life Science Village. Twenty percent of the units at the community are affordable under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) program.

Maxi Leachman and David Webb of CBRE secured acquisition financing from Freddie Mac for the partnership. The seller was not disclosed.
