Mesa's Fiesta Mall finally to get redeveloped

Mesa’s Fiesta Mall Next to be Recreated

Most Phoenix malls had run their course. They became distressed properties and had to be shuttered.

But a new era is kicking in for the once thriving malls. Metrocenter is being converted into a mixed-use project with multifamily communities, entertainment, offices and retail. Paradise Valley Mall and Christown are going through a similar rebirth. And now, the latest mall location that could get a redo is Fiesta Mall in Mesa. It had been sitting empty until most of the buildings were demolished in 2020.

Apartments have gone in on the north side of the property and now the developer, Verde Investments, is working with Mesa to recreate the once bustling center. A drive-thru restaurant, coffee franchise and a bank are the first to populate the new center. Many others are expected to follow. Verde is working with the town to build new retail, up to 4,000 new multifamily units, office and open green space.
