Meridian Sells Torrance-Based Health Facility for $14.2M

Situated near one of the nation’s largest retail malls, a 26,000-square-foot medical office building in Torrance, Calif., has sold for $14.2 million, to a private investor.

Meridian, a full-service owner/operator/investor of healthcare real estate is the seller of the building at 3531 Fashion Way, just across from Del Amo Fashion Center in the south bay of Los Angeles.

The building is also proximate to two neighborhood hospitals: the 436-bed Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center and the 401-bed Torrance Memorial Medical Center

Meridian acquired the building from Providence in December 2018 for $7.5 million, when it was 100% vacant. Meridian Chief Development Officer Mike Conn added, “Ultimately, we were able to rebuild the common areas and create a modern space that enhances the patient experience. We also removed overgrown vines from the exterior and added a new, clean façade to add character, architectural interest, and articulation to the building.”
