Mercedes-Benz’s Financial Arm Will Move to Detroit-Area BTS
Olympia Development of Michigan and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services (MBFS) plan to initiate a new greenfield, build-to-suit facility in Farmington Hills, MI. The new Class A office space will become headquarters for MBFS and regional headquarters for Daimler Mobility Americas.
The 200,000-square-foot complex will be located on a 35-acre parcel of land on the southwest corner of Drake and 12 Mile roads. Mercedes-Benz Financial Services currently leases space in an office complex less than a mile from the forthcoming development.
“While this location was once conceived as the headquarters of Little Caesars, we are excited that another great global brand will now call it home,” said SVP Keith Bradford of Olympia, the development arm of the Illitch family that’s behind the District Detroit project.
Gensler’s Detroit office will design the project, with locally-based Kirco Manix serving as general contractor. Construction is expected to begin this fall, with completion estimated for summer 2021.
