Menlo to Convert Office Park to Tech/Data Center
The office site is currently vacant, but soon, it might have the quiet whirring and buzzing of a massive data center. Menlo Equities has proposed a one-million-square-foot technology and data center project on about 40 acres at the southwest corner of Thistle Landing Drive and 50th St. in the Ahwatukee neighborhood. Currently, the site is used as an office park and call center across four single-story office buildings developed in 1998 but are now mostly vacant. Menlo Equities acquired the entire Thistle campus in 2015 between two transactions totaling $52.75 million.
The Phoenix Business Journal reports unlike a traditional data center development, the proposed project — called East Thistle Data Center — will include a mix of uses, including office space for research and development and data storage for businesses located at the campus, according to documents submitted to the city of Phoenix.
Connect Industrial Midwest 2024 will take place on March 5, 2024, at Joe’s Live in Rosemont, Illinois. Click here for more information and to register.
