Memorial City Hall Rehab Expanding in Scope

The renovation planned for the century-old Memorial City Hall building in Marshall, TX, is expanding in scope – and could be expanding in cost. The plan for the building, at 108 E. Houston St. is to convert it into a performing arts facility. However, the original $1.8 million budgeted for the project might not be enough.

According to Marshall city manager Lisa Agnor and director of support services Jack Redmon, the project also requires balcony work, restrooms on each floor and changes to the front atrium. Agnor added that it was understood that the $1.8 million might not be enough for the project. “Until we get the final specifications and go out to bid, we don’t know where this is going,” Agnor told the Longview News-Journal.

Flowers and Associates is the architect of record for the project.
