Melissa Pillars Joins JPMorgan Chase’s New Market Tax Credit Team

The Community Development Banking team at JPMorgan Chase welcomed Melissa Pillars to the New Market Tax Credit Originations team as Senior Banker covering the Central region. Pillars is passionate about community development, and this new role will allow her to follow that through NMTC investment further.

Pillars has been with Chase for nearly 19 years. She was previously in business banking, where she was the Great Lakes Government Nonprofit Area Manager, responsible for a team of specialized bankers focused on governments and nonprofit entities in the Midwest. She has held various roles, including personal banker, business relationship manager, and business banking area manager.

Pillars has chaired business resource Groups Adelante and Women on the Move. She also served as a mentor for The Fellowship Initiative and on the Board of Directors of Instituto del Progreso Latino. Pillars received her Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University of Chicago in Political Science.
