Megatel Homes Begins Construction of $2 Billion Lagoon Community in Houston
Megatel is calling its new project St. Tropez. It’s their 12th master-planned community in Texas. The community spans for 1,000 acres and will feature a manmade lagoon with white sand beaches.
“Megatel Homes has been searching for the optimum opportunity to gain re-entry into the Houston housing market. We are excited to bring this revolutionary residential experience to the Houston area,” said Megatel’s Zach Ipour.
Ipour added that the company was able to acquire the land at a reasonable cost, allowing them to offer the units at an attractive price point.
The newest Megatel community will include 4,500 single-family lots and multifamily options as well. Multifamily rental units will include one, two and three-bedroom options with rental rates expected to begin at $1,200 a month.
The lagoon concept will feature amenities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, FlowRider surf simulator, a water slide tower and numerous other water related activities. Phase I is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2023.
