Meet Google Compare: A Licensed Mortgage Broker in California

After launching its mortgage comparison tool this past week, Google is now a licensed mortgage broker in California. The online tool is currently only available in California, but it will be expanding to other states soon.

LendingTree and Zillow are the actors behind the scenes, providing data for the Google Compare tool. Rather than discussing the market with lenders directly, Google has access to Zillow’s data and provides the real-time information for free.

By comparing mortgage brokers as one would car insurance, Google suggests the side by side options based on users’ preferences. Then, it is up to the shopper to contact the lender or request a callback directly from the Google site.
