Medical District Aims to Be Chicago’s Life Science Hub

Already home to more than 40 healthcare organizations, the Illinois Medical District (IMD) has launched a new brand identity, including a redesigned website and “flyover” video, to better support its strategic vision of growing a global healthcare innovation cluster.

“IMD is already a rarity as a place where entrepreneurs and established leaders work side-by-side towards the same goal—to drive medicine forward,” said IMD CEO/executive director Suzet McKinney. “Our goal is to not only establish the district as the consummate home to a growing life sciences industry in Chicago, but to make it a global center for innovation and collaboration.”

The 560-acre special zoning district has more than 31 acres of land available for development, and is working with CBRE’s Mike Nardini and Allison Oszta, along with Ware Realty Group’s Sarah Ware, on development and leasing opportunities. Much of the IMD is also inside a Qualified Opportunity Zone.
