Medical City Delivering Expanded Women’s Hospital

Medical City Dallas, which has been delivering North Dallas babies for close to half a century, will be expanding its women’s hospital by adding five stories to Tower D on its campus at 7777 Forest Lane. The $125 million expansion, which is slated for a 2018 completion, will add 80 beds and increase the hospital’s delivery capacity by 50%.

The expansion will add 24 labor and delivery rooms, four operating rooms, 84 NICU rooms and two floors of physician offices. Also included will be postpartum and antepartum rooms.

The women’s hospital is currently at capacity, primarily due to North Texas job creation that has, in turn, attracted families and women of childbearing years, according to Keith Zimmerman, president and CEO of Medical City Children’s Hospital.
