Meal Delivery Service Provider Opens Massive Goodyear Kitchen
Ready-to-eat meals company, Factor, has opened a new 301,000 square foot fulfillment center in Goodyear. The new facility is Factor’s first outside of its base in Illinois and is larger than all of the company’s five existing industrial facilities combined. Factor, founded in 2013, was acquired about three years ago by HelloFresh. The company focuses on food that’s chef-prepared and made from scratch using fresh and natural ingredients.
Factor has hired about 100 people for its Goodyear center but plans to increase this number to 800 as it scales up. In a few years, it also expects to be preparing up to 2 million meals weekly at the new facility.
In its first week, Factor said nearly 100,000 meals and more than 10,000 boxes were prepared for customers at its new Phoenix metro facility.
Once food arrives at the Goodyear center, it is cut up and cooked, baked or grilled. The food is then quickly refridgerated, sealed, stored and then shipped out.
