McWhinney Pays $95M for Denver Hotel
Colorado-based developer McWhinney paid $95 million for the Thompson Denver hotel. The hotel building, at 1616 Market Street is an 11-story structure built in 2022. It was developed by T2 Hospitality. The 216-unit hotel includes a restaurant, cocktail bar, fitness center and 10,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is run and was owned by Hyatt Hotels.
Thompson Denver is now part of McWhinney’s growing hospitality portfolio. The company also owns The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block, The Crawford Hotel at Union Station and the hotel and restaurant space at 1801 Wewatta St., home to Hotel Indigo Denver Downtown. This is the first time the hotel, named Thompson Denver, has sold.
In addition to hotels, McWhinney owns commercial, multifamily, residential and mixed-use properties in Colorado, Utah, Texas, Massachusetts, Oregon, Nebraska and Southern California.
