McKinney’s West Grove Moving to Next Phase

West Grove is still a work in progress, but is moving toward fulfilling its promise. Five years in the making, the 52-acre mixed-use development has its first tenants up and operating. With the first two phases already open to the public, construction is continuing on the project, which will feature 500,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 55,000 square feet of offices and 420 apartments.

De La Vega Development is helming the project and has been under construction since the first quarter of 2023, when infrastructure work began. The company told Community Impact that
all on-site and off-site infrastructure is in place. The major components of the project have been delivered, and development is progressing in alignment with the original vision and strategy. OrangeTwist, Velvet Taco, and Chewy Vet Care are all open for business. Some tenants, including grocery chain Whole Foods, are working on interior build-outs.
