McKinney's Painted Tree project to get 600-unit apartment complex

McKinney’s Painted Tree Location for 600 Apartment Units

While the expansive Painted Tree project in McKinney will emphasize single family homes, Davis Development has been chosen by the projects developer to build a 600-unit multifamily community. Painted Tree – 30 miles north of Dallas – is planned for 3,400 houses and is a project of Dallas’ Oxland Advisors and New York-based JEN Partners.

Work will begin work this month on a $50 million, 486,000-square-foot apartment project at Lake Forest Drive and Wilmeth Road. The three- and four-story apartment buildings will be constructed west of U.S. Highway 75. The first phase of the rental community will open in 2024. Davis Development has built and managed more than 50,000 rental units over the last 20 years, including multiple projects in North Texas. Along with new single-family homes and the apartments, Painted Tree will also include a build-to-rent neighborhood by Arizona-based Curve Development with 304 single-family detached rental homes.
