Construction is underway for a new Avid hotel in north McKinney. Avid is a brand associated with Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG). The hotel, located on the west side of US 75 and south of White Avenue, will have 95 guest rooms. The hotel is planned to be four stories tall and over 41,000 square feet. The McKinney location is expected to begin construction in early 2023. The project is expected to cost about $5 million. McKinney is on the far northern edge of the DFW metroplex.

The hotel concept provides “super clean, right-size rooms” and includes a large fitness center, grab-and-go breakfast options, digital check-in and more. There are 60 Avid hotels in North America, including seven in Texas. The Avid niche emphasizes “modern architecture, efficient amenities and an exceptional sleep experience.” IHG has 18 brands and over 6,000 locations worldwide.
