McKinney Site for 800,000 Square Feet of New Apartments
Dallas-based developer Billingsley Company is building what could add up to an 800,000 square foot multifamily project on 58 acres in McKinney, a Dallas suburb. The project, slated for multiple phases, will be called The Chase at Wilson Creek
Public filings indicate the project will be located at 6500 W. University Drive. Billingsley will begin construction at the end of November and should be completed with its first phase in May 2024. Billingsley has held the property since 2005.
The development will be designed by Hensley Lamkin Rachel, Inc and will include 17 residential buildings, three amenity buildings, one detached garage and one standalone garage.
The McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission will vote on a preliminary-final plat request at its Sept. 27 meeting to subdivide the property into smaller zoning sections, allowing for Phase 1 of the development to use only 27.6 acres.
