McKinney Sunset Amphitheater will seat 20,000 concertgoers

McKinney Scores $220M Concert Venue

Notes Live Inc. should start moving dirt later this year on the Sunset Amphitheater, with opening slated for sometime in 2026. It’s expected to seat over 20,000 fans.

The $220 million project will span more than 46 acres and feature 250 “fire pit suites” as well as some reserved seating. This is a joint effort by the city, the McKinney Economic Development Corporation and the McKinney Community Development Corporation. Sunset Amphitheater will be built northeast of US 75 and SH 121.

The venue plans to host 50 to 60 concerts a year, in addition to community events including graduations and comedy shows.

In its first 10 years, Sunset Amphitheater plans to bring more than 1,300 jobs to the area and generate around $3 billion in regional and local economic activity. The company’s first Sunset Amphitheater will open in Colorado Springs this summer.
