McKinney Progressing on Downtown Redevelopment Plan

A McKinney downtown redevelopment plan could result in a new hotel, office space, residential units and retail. M2G Ventures was chosen by the town to head up the project.

Community Impact reports the town will be vacating four city-owned properties which will be key to the redevelopment plans. One of those buildings is the current City Hall. Staff will be leaving those buildings after the first of next year.

The current site plan includes a six-story, full-service hotel with 139 rooms. The hotel would also include nearly 3,000 square feet of retail and restaurant spaces, including a beer garden and grill, as well as almost 5,000 square feet of meeting space. Other elements of the plan include:

  • A 3-story office building
  • 12 townhomes
  • 166 multifamily units with over 360 parking spaces

The site plan also includes various retail spaces throughout the project and a 150-space public parking garage.
