McDonald’s Initiates Oak Brook Campus Divesture
McDonald’s is relocating to a new headquarters in Chicago’s Fulton Market district starting this spring. Leading up to that move, the fast-food chain is divesting assets at its 74-acre campus in Oak Brook, IL.
Already, McDonald’s Plaza, a 16.5-acre, 330,000-square-foot property, is for sale and two additional assets are expected to come to market soon including the 130,000-square-foot Hamburger University and a 218-room Hyatt Lodge.
Last year, McDonald’s sold an office property at 711 Jorie Blvd. to Pennsylvania-based Exeter Property Group for roughly $14.5 million. It also has three remaining properties totaling more than 100 acres to sell. It is unclear if the company plans to sell another 20-acre property on Kensington Road.
Interested bidders include Inland Real Estate Group, which is considering redeveloping its current Oak Brook HQ, as well as Amazon’s HQ2.
JLL’s Scott Miller, Lindsey Fahey and Elizabeth Gagliardi are representing McDonald’s in the sales.
