McCord Advancing Houston’s Generation Park

McCord Development is moving full speed ahead on the first phase of a bio-tech campus within the company’s Generation Park master-planned development in NE Houston. The company is prepping the site with $30 million in infrastructure improvements, laying the groundwork for BioHub Two. It will consist of 45 acres that can be subdivided to accommodate a range of life sciences uses, including large- and small-scale manufacturing. The project will eventually include 500,000 square feet of manufacturing, lab and office space.

McCord Development is also planning to build two multifamily communities next to BioHub Two. The company then plans to build The Commons, a 5-acre green space with free-standing spaces for restaurants and cafes.

Following the biotech project, the company is working to develop a 100,000-square-foot speculative flex-industrial project and an 8,600-square-foot events venue and adjacent bar. Plans down the road for Redemption Square, inside Generation Park, include 300,000 square feet of retail.
