McCarthy Starts Work on Houston Methodist Cypress Campus
It wasn’t easy to get to this point. McCarthy had to demolish 11 buildings before they could prepare the pad for construction. The property, located between Barker Cypress and Skinner roads, was formerly occupied by Sysco Corp. The new hospital will be a seven-story, 570,000 square foot structure with two adjacent six-story medical buildings 160,000 square feet each, on a 106 acre campus.
The 400-bed hospital will incorporate technological advancements from the health care system’s Center for Innovation. Smart technology planned include artificial intelligence systems for predictive analytics, voice technology systems, smart speakers and lights, along with virtual care and remote patient monitoring systems.
Completion is expected near the end of 2024.
