MCB to Build $115M Retail, Housing Project in Southern Maryland

MCB Real Estate is launching a $115 million mixed-use development in Waldorf, Maryland, anchored by an expansion of Weis Markets, Washington Business Journal reported. This project, The Shops at Fairway Village, will include 186 apartment units. The development is MCB’s second in Waldorf and is being done in partnership with Generation Properties.

The project is a response to Charles County’s rapid growth and its appeal as an affordable alternative to Washington, D.C. The retail portion of The Shops at Fairway Village will feature 120,000 square feet of space, including grocery, restaurant, and retail outlets. Leases with national chains like Hair Cuttery, KinderCare Learning Centers, Eggspectation, and McDonald’s have already been signed. The retail section is expected to open in late 2025, with the residential phase to follow.

This development is part of MCB’s broader portfolio, which includes projects like Yard 56 in Greektown and Reservoir Square in West Baltimore.
