Maryland’s MCB Real Estate is set to break ground in 2025 on Viva White Oak, a long-awaited project adjacent to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in Silver Spring, Md,.

The 280-acre site, previously overseen by Global LifeSci Development Corp., is approved for over 12 million square feet of mixed-use development, including residential units and commercial and higher-education spaces with a biohealth focus.

The project, estimated at $3 billion, aims to bring economic development and prosperity to the eastern region of Montgomery county. The County Council is expected to adopt the fiscal year 2025 budget, which includes funding for road construction to support the project, on May 23.
