Mayor Bowser, Development Team Open Buzzard Point Residential Project

Akridge and National Real Estate Development, along with Blue Coast Capital, Bridge Investment Group, National Real Estate Advisors, and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, recently celebrated the ribbon cutting for Phase I of The Stacks, a nearly seven-acre waterfront neighborhood in Buzzard Point.

The ribbon cutting marks the completion of the first phase of the development, featuring 1 million square feet of vibrant residential, retail and coworking space, along with community-centric green space. Completing the Southwest Waterfront, The Stacks sits in the heart of Buzzard Point at the convergence of the Potomac and Anacostia Rivers.

At full buildout, The Stacks will feature two million square feet of mixed-use space, just a block from Audi Field and a short walk to Nationals Park. The property is also home to 40,000 square feet of retail space, including FLEX Gym, with Launch Workplaces slated to open an 11,000-square-foot modern and professional coworking space later this year.
