Mayer Brown Expands to 235k SF at Rock Group’s 1221 Sixth
Law firm Mayer Brown has added a floor and 49,000 square feet to its occupancy at the Rockefeller Group’s 1221 Ave. of the Americas. The expansion brings its footprint at the 50-story office tower to 235,000 square feet. It’s also the third legal-sector leasing deal on Sixth Avenue that Rockefeller Group has finalized this year, following relocations by Latham & Watkins and Blank Rome to 1271 Ave. of the Americas.
“Mayer Brown is a premier law firm and a valued tenant” at 1221 Sixth, said Ed Guiltinan, Rockefeller Group’s New York head of leasing. “We are pleased Mayer Brown chose to lease additional space in 1221 Sixth, and that we could accommodate the firm’s growth in the building.”
CBRE’s Bob Flippin, Andrew Sussman, Lauren Crowley Corrinet and Anthony Dattoma represented Mayer Brown. Guiltinan led an in-house team representing ownership, helped by Cushman & Wakefield’s Robert Lowe and his team.
