May | Riegler Buys 28 Acres in Frederick for Two-Building Logistics Center

Washington, DC-based May | Riegler Properties has acquired a 28-acre site at 550 Highland Street in Frederick, MD. Chris Kubler and Don Schline of NAI KLNB represented the seller.

Following the demolition of the existing 200,000-square-foot building, May | Riegler intends to break ground on Highland Logistics Center. The project consists of the construction of two single-story logistics warehouse buildings comprising 190,000 and 260,000 square feet of space, respectively. They will feature 32-foot clear ceiling heights, 52-foot column spacing, 60-foot speed bays, truck courts and additional space suitable for industrial outdoor.

“The next-day and same-day delivery expectations of the American consumer continue to fuel the seemingly insatiable demand for large-scale Class A warehouse and logistics space both nationally and locally and this development, contained within a sub-set of the Washington, D.C., industrial market, features a current vacancy rate of 1.3%,” said Eric May, co-founder and principal of May | Riegler Properties.

About Lisa McDuffie

Lisa McDuffie arrives at ConnectCRE via REALTOR® world, where she served for nearly two decades as communications director for one of the nation’s largest REALTOR® organizations. She supported two membership-elected presidents who were commercial real estate practitioners, and managed the communications initiatives of the organization’s commercial special interest group. When not following the latest commercial real estate news, Lisa is zeroed in on her charismatic off-the-track thoroughbred as she makes the transition from an utterly failed racehorse to a lovely show hunter.
