Mattress Firm HQ Relocation On, Following Merger

Mattress Firm Holding Corp. will begin moving into its new Houston headquarters by the end of this month. The move is still on, despite the retailer’s upcoming $3.8-million acquisition by South Africa-based Steinhoff International.

Mattress Firm’s new headquarters at 10201 S. Main St. is 130,000 square feet, and can accommodate up to 650 employees. The company currently employs 500 at its corporate offices. Few employment changes are expected following the acquisition’s close.

“We built the facility for capacity for the next several years,” said Mattress Firm CEO Ken Murphy. “We do expect annual growth as we choose to invest more in certain parts of the business.”
