Matthews Completes Sale of Kansas Daycare Center

Matthews Real Estate Investment Services, a commercial real estate investment services and technology firm, completed the sale of Kids r Kids, a daycare center located at 1585 S. Mahaffie Circle in Olathe, Kansas. The deal closed for $5.775 million.

Matthews Associate Matthew Gibbs and Vice President and Director Clay Smith represented the seller in the transaction. “Utilizing our marketing platform and local market knowledge, we were able to close $1 million over what the sellers have previously been offered off-market in 2023,” Gibbs said. The deal included both the business and underlying real estate of the property. The building, built in 2017, totals 18,000 square feet on a 2.42-acre lot.

The buyer, Maryland-based Kiddie Academy, was looking to expand into the Kansas City market. The daycare franchise group currently operates in 41 states, and the Olathe location will be the company’s first Kansas asset.
