Master Plan Update for East Texas Regional Airport

Connect is coming to Austin! Learn more here.

Gregg County Commissioners began the process of updating the master plan for the East Texas Regional Airport in Longview, TX. Following approval of the commissioners, the next step is to name a committee that will develop short- and long-term plans, so the airport fits with economic development and travel needs. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will pay 90% for the $600,000 master plan, leaving the county to take on $60,000.

The plan will focus on three sections, one of which encompasses one to five years ahead. Sections two and three will outline 6-10 years ahead, and one to two decades into the future. The plan will also take into account economic directions and local impact of the oil and gas market, according to Airport Director Roy Miller. Miller said developing the plan would take about one year to 18 months.
