Park at Miramar will have over 2,500 residential units

Massive Miramar Mixed-Use Project Up for Vote

Sunbeam Development Corp. is eyeing a 125-acre parcel in Miramar to build a sprawling mixed-use project. If approved by the town’s zoning board later this month, the development would include 2,874 multifamily units. The rezoning is made up of the vacant site at the northeast corner of Miramar Parkway and Red Road.

In addition to the residential units, the developer wants to include a 39,598-square-foot grocery store, 38,536 square feet of entertainment space with a 3,038-square-foot outdoor bar, an 8,600-square-foot daycare center, 128,386 square feet of offices with 99,361 square feet of leasable space, 240,862 square feet of retail/restaurants/bars, a 178,530 square-foot hotel with 185 rooms, and a 21,730-square-foot clubhouse. There would also be 13 acres of recreation, including two parks and 7,859 parking spaces.

The apartment buildings would range from seven to 10 stories. The hotel would rise eight stories.

The S. Florida Business Journal reports that the developer would start with three eight-story apartment buildings and several restaurants on a boardwalk around a new lake.

Boulder, Colorado-based 505Design is the project architect.
