Marymount University Acquires 267-Unit MF Property in Northern VA

Marymount University has acquired the Rixey, a 267-unit multifamily property in Arlington, VA. The sales price was undisclosed.

Marymount plans to convert the property into a 502-bed student housing community affiliated with the university. The community will offer apartment-style units for upperclassmen, graduate students, faculty and staff. The Rixey will feature studio, one and two-bedroom fully-furnished units. Amenities will include ground floor retail leased to Starbucks Coffee.

The Michaels Organization has been tapped as a management partner for the community. The firm will co-manage leasing efforts and the operations at the community.
